1. Shami Kebab
Shami kebab is one of the best starters in the non-vegetarian snacks category. It is one of the dishes that cannot be missed while celebrating Eid. Shami kebab is packed with minced lamb, chana dal, onions, green chilies, and other herbs and spices.
How To Prepare
1. Soak Chana Dal (Chickpea Lentils) for 2-3 hours.
2. Drain the water and add the lentils to a large pot. Add ginger, garlic, turmeric powder, red chili powder, salt, cumin powder, garam masala, cinnamon stick, and minced lamb. Add enough water to cover the minced lamb.
3. Cook until the water gets evaporated. After water soaks up, let it cool down.
4. Transfer it to the mixer and grind it well. Make it dry and powdery.
5. Add chopped onions, green chilies, mint leaves, and coriander leaves. Mix it well.
6. Break the eggs in a bowl and beat it to make a uniform mixture.
7. Add this to the chana dal mixture and make a dough.
8. Divide the portion equally and roll it to make balls. Flatten these balls, dip them in the egg mixture and place them on a baking tray.
9. Bake it at 180 degrees Celsius. Serve hot with mint chutney.
2. Paan Thandai

How To Prepare
1. Wash paan leaves and chop them finely.
2. You can buy thandai mixture from any store or if you want to make it at home. Try this recipe: Soak almonds, cashews, pistachios, melon seeds, poppy seeds, fennel seeds, rose petals, and cardamom in water. Let them soak for 5-6 hours and grind them to make a fine paste.
3. Add chilled milk to a blender, add thandai paste, chopped paan leaves, and gulkand. Blend it well. Serve chilled.
3. Shahi Tukda
Eid is also known as Meethi Eid, and Eid would be incomplete without Shahi Tukda. This dessert is utterly delicious, you cannot stop yourself at just one. Binge on the healthy shahi tukda without any guilt!
How To Prepare
1. Soak almonds in water overnight. Blend these soaked almonds with almond milk and figs and make a fine paste.
2. Add remaining almond milk to a pan and boil it. Add almond and figs paste. Boil the milk until it turns out to be thick. Let it cool down.
3. Bake the multigrain or whole wheat bread. Cut the bread into a triangular shape.
4. Put the almond mixture in the refrigerator.
5. Spread this almond mixture over-baked breads. And garnish with pistachios.
4. Brown Rice Zarda Pulao
Rice is one of the best grains that can be cooked in various ways while keeping hunger pangs away. After a month-long fast, eating some rice dishes would be a good option for your gut as the rice gets easily digested. How To Prepare
1. Wash and soak rice. Cook rice in a rice cooker.
2. Add ghee to a pan. Add nuts of your choice. And toast it well.
3. Transfer it to a plate and let it cool down.
4. Add water to the same pan. Add jaggery powder and let it boil. Add saffron strands, cinnamon sticks, cloves, and cardamom powder. Let it boil for 4-5mins.
5. Add cooked rice and mix it well.

5. Whole Wheat Seviyan
A classic sweet prepared every Eid, one of the delectable desserts that cannot be missed. One of the most fascinating aspects about Seviyan is that every household has its way of preparing it. So, no one can go wrong about it. Seviyan is loaded with dry fruits, made in milk and whole wheat vermicelli.
How To Prepare
1. Heat ghee in a pan. Toast vermicelli and keep it aside.
2. Add almond milk to a pan. Let it boil for 8-10mins. Add vermicelli, nuts, and jaggery powder. Add rose essence or rose water. You can also add grated apple instead of jaggery powder to sweeten the dish.
3. Garnish with nuts and serve hot or chilled as you prefer.
